Monarch Automation Construction (MAC), Company Resume
History:
Mac owned and operated by Ivon and Ghyslaine Richard, was
incorporated in January of 2002. Another company (Monarch
Automation Group Ltd) has been operated on a full-time
basis by the same owners for the past eight years.
The latter company is a "System Integrator" specializing
in PLC and Scada system programming and commissioning. We
also provide Electrical Engineering services and training
for municipal and the mining industry via this company. A
few years ago we started building industrial control panels
and performing some installations. The owners felt that it
would be beneficial to keep the Integration / Engineering
separate from the construction activities, hence MAC was founded.
MAC Work History:
1) Falconbridge Kidd Creek Minesite: (March 2002 to Present).
We have been working on electrical construction for the Deep
Mine project since March of 2002. Our crew presently comprises
fourteen electricians under the supervision of Mr. Yvon Bouchard.
Mr. Bouchard has over thirty years experience in electrical
construction most of which in mining.
The crew has performed numerous projects including the installation
of a capacitor bank at the powerhouse on surface. Underground
installations include: high voltage substations, cable trays
and all services to the production hoist room, refuge station,
dewatering systems, fiber optic and power cable installations,
as well as many other similar projects.
The crew is "work-loaded" by Kidd Creek's Electrical
Planner/supervisor, Mr. Frank Ciarrocca. Frank (Kidd's construction
supervisor for many years) is extremely pleased with the workmanship
and professionalism of our crew.
As an added service to this contract, MAC's office will procure
and expedite any material required on short notice. This ensures
continuity in the construction project. Another advantage
of working with MAC on projects that involve PLC components
is that we have the hardware, software and expertise to perform
all "field I/O verifications" to the PLC level.
I will personally assist with this exercise at no extra cost
to the project (my time is covered in the project overhead).

basis" to perform instrument calibration for Kidd Creek's
ventilation department the same services were extended to
Cementation. Instrument calibrated included air flow monitors,
Draeger Sensors, belt scales etc.

installation. This project required some minor structural
modifications; the mechanical installation was performed via
MAC.

3) Luzenac Talc Miconizing Plant: (November 2002 to February
2003)
We performed all field tracing and design required to rewire
process control loops from a "stand-alone system"
to an Allen Bradley PLC. MAC also installed cable trays and
wiring needed for system "cut-over" to the PLC.
A lot of transmitters were relocated and some new ones added
during this project. This project employed two electricians
for approximately ten weeks.

4) Iroquois Falls Power: (February 2003 -ongoing as need
be).
MAC installed cable trays and pulled cable for their "generator
upgrade project". This project was done in phases and
employed two electricians for a period six weeks.

Summary Of Monarch Automation Group Ltd.'s Capabilities
Monarch Automation Group Ltd. is primarily a "system
integrator". We provide electrical PLC and SCADA programming,
system field-testing, commissioning services, equipment specific
training and after-sales service. Monarch builds "custom
designed" control panels. We also provide "electrical
design" complete with detailed Auto CAD drawings for
process control applications. We perform instrument calibration
and maintenance for several industrial companies and municipalities.
We have designed, produce drawings, supplied equipment and
performed the start-up and commissioning for several telemetry
systems.
We are located in North Eastern Ontario within a four-hour
drive of 40% of all Canadian mining operations. We are also
surrounded with "forestry related industries," in
the form of sawmills, plywood mills or paper mills.
PLC Brand Supported Modicon, Allen Bradley
SCADA Systems Supported Intellutin's FIX DMACS" Wonderware,
Taylor's Process Windows, Allen Bradley's RSView
Operator Interface Systems Supported Panelmate, Xycom, Smart-touch,
Uniop, Nematron, Magelis
Monarch Automation Group Ltd. can complete detailed cost estimates,
provide details for PLC and or SCADA systems and Ethernet
network design complete with field testing and commissioning.
We also offer an "after-sales service" package customized
to the client's needs. This can entail going to the customer's
site or troubleshooting / program modification via "dial-up
modems".
We can also provide onsite "equipment specific"
training if required. Monarch can also respond to service
calls for "electro-hydraulic" control systems. We
can also act as project construction supervisor if the customer
desires. Instrument calibration is another service we offer.
We represent "Power Measurement Limited"; a major
world player that is solely involved in "power monitoring".
We have done many power monitoring installations in Northern
Ontario. Here again Monarch can simply sell the power meters
and provide programming expertise; or provide a "turn-key"
solution (complete with installation) if the customer so desires.
